Duda likes to bring freezies into the outfield. He is the only player who “pimps” doubles by running just hard enough to make it to second a step ahead of the throw. Duda actually hooked up an Ipod inside his helmet during a game. No kidding, you can’t make up stuff like this. We are not sure what he was listening to though, probably Katy Perry. Duda stands so close to the plate it’s amazing he doesn’t get hit by the pitcher every time. As it turns out, it happens like every fourth or fifth at bat. Again, that stat is note made up; he was once hit like 35 times in a season. He has been hit four times in a game. He is hit so often that sometimes he is already throwing the bat to the dugout and running to first when the ball hits him. Again, all true. Duda generally shows up for a game five minutes before the first pitch and prepares himself by eating a Wendy’s bacon cheeseburger onto which he places five chicken nuggets. He says it’s like a cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich on the same bun. Oh yeah, he is also the coach.
